I love neutral holiday and seasonal décor and the beautiful natural colors in the drop cloth and twine are the perfect items to create this EASY fall DIY to decorate around your home this fall. Gather Your Supplies

Head to The Home Depot to gather all the necessary supplies for this project. You’ll find everything you need, from thejute twine and drop cloth to the hot glue gun. Additionally, grab a bag of sand to use for the pumpkin. I used some sand from our sandbox at home, but I linked a bag you can easily find at your local Home Depot.

Creating the Pumpkin

Start by filling the bag with sand, ensuring it’s tightly sealed. Cut your drop cloth in a square and wrap it around the sand-filled bag, allowing the excess fabric to gather at the top. Secure the drop cloth tightly around the bag using the twisted jute twine. I criss-crossed the twine to make it look like the ridges of the pumpkin. After you complete, this will form the body of your pumpkin.

Adding the Stem

Using the hot glue gun, attach a small stick from your yard to the top of the pumpkin as the stem. Apply a generous amount of hot glue to securely hold it in place. Make sure to choose a stick that resembles a pumpkin stem for a more authentic look!

Crafting the Acorn

For the acorn, create a pouch by gathering a section of the drop cloth and stuffing it with plastic bags. Such a great way to reuse those plastic grocery bags! I found the best way to achieve the desired acorn shape, was to fold the bottom of the drop cloth like this and secure with hot glue. This creates a pouch for you to stuff with plastic bags.

Then take the jute twine and begin wrapping it tightly around the pouch, starting about halfway from the middle. Continue wrapping the twine in a spiral pattern, working your way down to the top. I added glue where necessary to hold the twine in place.

Securing the Twine and Stem

Using the hot glue gun, apply glue along the twine as you wrap it around the acorn pouch. This will ensure that the twine stays securely in place. Finally, attach a small stick to the top of the acorn as the stem, using the hot glue gun to fix it firmly.

With just a few supplies from The Home Depot, you can create fall decorations for your home that are both easy and affordable.

These drop cloth pumpkin and twine acorn crafts would also make great gifts. Embrace your creativity and enjoy the process of crafting this fall!
